Ya, we've know about this for several days. My heart breaks for his sister.

Oh Dear, such a sad thing to read about.
He sure owned Les Bois Park this past summer. He had 27% winners and 61% in the money.
He rode a couple of horses for my brother. I remember shaking his hand in the paddock. He darned near broke my hand with his firm handshake.
I have a winners circle photo of him after booting home Kerryman to a win in an Alw/Opt. Claimer at Les Bois. Going to have to put that picture in a place of honour on my wall.
Brian also guided a QH I have a connection with to a 3rd place finish in a G-3 futurity. Especially gratifying as the hoss was NOT the 3rd best horse in the field.
The racing Journal, (covers Intermountain racing and other out of the way tracks) had a nice article on Brian when he won his 1,000th race aboard Messner Mine at Les Bois.
I know that Brian had battled a lot of personal demons throughout his life. He was still a nice guy and I hope that on the other side, you find peace.
All the best, Shergar
PS: God bless you Brian and may all you mounts be winners.

Brian Long
I knew Brian Long from many many years ago when he was riding in NJ. He was fun and personable. Rest in peace my friend.
Sometimes the simplest thing can make all the difference.
