Casino Drive for Belmont 2008

Forget the Derby, this is way better. Jazil and Rags To Riches' half brother by Mineshaft is being pointed to the Belmont.

I'll start cheering now.

Can't say it's the 'right' move since it would only be his 3rd? start, but it's definitely one I'm behind from a sporting standpoint. The Belmont has become a race of attrition full of second stringers anymore. Even if this colt proves to be mediocre compared to American based 3yos, mediocre has been more than enough to win the Belmont of late (Sarava? Commendable? Birdstone?) Even his own half-sib was fairly forgettable (Jazil, not Rags). Obviously, being a son of one and half to two winners, he has the bloodlines to do it. If the race comes up with 6-7 lightweight starters, they may as well go for it.

Don't know anything about racing in Japan, but beating his opposition by 12 lengths w/ a hand ride seems pretty exciting to me.
How cool would it be if Better than Honour had 3 belmont winners in a row?
Anyone know anything about her 2 yr old and yrling s? I read she aborted her APIndy colt this yr..

So far this years crop can't hold a candle last year. Definitely worth a shot.
