'ROID RAGE

Postby ZZTOPPERS » Sat Jun 07, 2008 6:01 pm

I can't believe that not one "expert" covering the Belmont even touched on probably the most obvious reason for Big Brown's big blowout--no Winstrol in the bloodstream. Steroids are banned in NY, and without that added kick, the boy was just not as good at this level--beat down by a Maiden winner when he ran clean.

If he gets Winstrol once a month on the 15th, as Dutrow has said, then he's not due his next dose for a week. Don't see that it had any effect -- he didn't miss his regular dose. And are steriods actually banned in NY? I didn't think that was one of the jurisdictions that has regulated them yet.

according to reports he had not had a shot since april 15th and there was a brief moment of speculation with it be possible. Didnt say probable or not probable, just said possible and would have to see what was found.

I believe they reported that all three triple crown states allowed steroids. NY does not?

The way I understood it was that steroids are legal in NY, but Dutrow wanted to prove that Big Brown didn't need them. He didn't give him Winstrol when he normally would have on May 15th.

I read earlier in the week, and I believe TVG or HRTV (I'm a race channel junkie) also reported, that Steroids were not allowed in NY--and with the withdrawel time, he had to be off of it after the April 15th shot. So are steroids legal in NY, and did Big Brown run clean or on steroids? Again, I heard/read clean.

No steroids did not make him stop. The steroids is a non issue here. Something made him stop what was it?

His feet. The TC schedule. is trainer's very big mouth. The heat and humidity. A rough trip early, and a 6 wide trip. Had he won it he was running atleast 2+ miles to do it.

I think Kent would have mentioned his action if it was the quarter crack. He just looked very flat. I actually think it may have to do more with the roids and general fatigue than anything else.

I would still add to all that Winstrol. I asked around today, and a general feeling of a few medical practioners was that if his body was used to what it was receiving, then it was indeed very possible his performance would be marred. I think it was just not one chink in the armour but many. Anyway I am still happy!! And anticipating next year!!!
trying to come up with something brillant..... this may take a while. :)

You might be right. he looked flat as a pancake. Maybe the 3 races in 5 weeks did him in.

We should take a poll on which excuse is given to the public!
1. The heat
2. He bled
3. He has low grade mucous
4. Feet
5. TC Schedule
6. not the greatest trip ever
