Due to a fever. True story I swear.

Well the race is 2 weeks away and if he's not ready how about the Grade One Hollywood Turf Cup in December as a swan song or how about racing him next year as he's only had 11 starts and just recently got really good. Maybe he has something in his system that won't clear in time for the BC.

Or MAYBE they were close to a stud deal where the price offered was dependent on his BC finish. If he can't make the race, the deal needs to be finalized.

Things aren't always how the fans want to make them out to be.

I agree of this being bogus, the horse dint have the most controled work the other day & IMO would have been smoked in the Turf anyway which def would knock some shine off of him as a stallion prospect. It was better for then to send him away off his world record race. I'm not too keen on his chances of making a worthwhile stallion.

considering his last out he broke the world record, I don't think they were too worried about him in the Turf.

ON hte same track no less.

americans have done farily well in the turf, and there isn't a horse that if I were him i would be ducking. Unless Zarkava came over, i'd take my chances.

i would believe this is pretty legit.

What would the demand for his services be even if he won the BCTurf? Stallions who win going 12f on the turf serve a niche market, usually overseas. Something real, not monetary, came up is my take on the situation.

The turf was probably his last race anyway since he can't make it, they retired him for the season coming up.

I think his fever was a legitimate injury and it's a shame he had to be retired. He was a very good turf horse and it's too bad his connections aren't willing to wait and give him one more shot in a November race.

For that matter, I've always wondered why more owners/trainers don't give BC horses one more Nov/Dec race before retiring, especially ones that didn't perform well in their BC races.
