Never mind that being a full brother to a KY Derby winner is hard enough; because that particular DW is Barbaro, just imagine the expectations for this guy. I hope he has a good, safe clean trip and learns a lot. Good luck, Nicky. :D

I hope Nicanor comes in second because Allrightsreserved is in my fantasy stable of horses I "bought" as yearlings . . .

This poor colt can't carry all the weight that has been placed on him. If he wins, only more will be expected of him. If he runs up the track, people will denounce him as a pretender to the throne. I can only say that Matz will have him as well-prepared as he can possibly be, and I wish the Jackson's a Triple Crown with him, but I only expect him to be an allowance winner.

I noticed that under medication for Nicanor they listed FTL. Pardon my ignorance, but what does that mean?

Best of luck Nick!

Yeah, he has a lot of expectations riding on him...but it's cool to finally see him race....I'll have to hustle home from the barn on Saturday.

Barbaro loved the Gulfstream surface, so from a handicapping angle Nicanor might be a play. It's neat that Prado has the mount too.

Jumping the gun a little-
but if he has any talent, he may be a serious boost for the racing industry

If he wins Saturday-someone needs to alert CNN

I'm almost not joking

I think alot of the expectation is in hope rather than hype, a lot of people would love to see the horse do well, but fortunately he hasn't been hailed a budding champion, so if he fails people hopefully won't whinge.

After all he didn't cost 16 mill and his owners are just happy to have him on the track.

Don't worry about all the expectations put on him because he is a horse and does not know or care what his brother did. Now the humans involved thats another story.

Fortunatly for him and the little brother-
They have some of the best human connections in the industry...

I was thinking about this this AM-even if both of them cannot run-there will be a full brother of Barbaro standing at stud...whether this is a good thing or not will remain to be seen....I have never approved of stallions standing on pedigree alone.....

Well the good news for him today is that he doesn't seem to be facing any monsters. Of the ones that have run before, Dubinsky seems the most likely (though his odds will be low and he may have to be used early from that outside post), and I like Boyhood Dream as well. The bad news is that Matz doesn't usually have them cranked up for their first out (he's only 4% with first-timers).
