She's been bred to Indian Charlie. A leg infection set her back and they decided to retire her. It's a shame but I guess they figured in the great scheme of things, what with the BC still at Santa Anita, there's no point pointing to the Ladies Classic since they don't wanna do synthetic with her. If it were at Churchill or something, I wonder if they'd have called it a day.

Each time see this photo feel bad for Charismatic..but think he has never been a good enough piece for triple crown..few after
him incl War Emblem and Funny Cide belong to this same category..Belmont is a true test for durability which any bona fide
champion must show.

All along I believe Canadian triple crown is better..its last leg Breeders Stakes is 2400 turf instead of dirt. I like this mixed surface
format...A true king must be able to run well on the beach as well as in the garden.

I really liked Proud Spell and was fortunate enough to be at the Alabama when she and Music Note went head to head for what seemed like the entire stretch. The Spa was electric as the two great fillies put on a tremendous show. There was still a buzz in the crowd as people left the track and wandered over to Siro's and the Horseshoe Bar. It's moments like those that keep me coming back for more despite some of the problems in the industry.
And DOWN the stretch they come!
