The Clement L. Hirsch is a weight-for-age stakes, I believe, instead of a handicap. In a handicap, better horses carry higher weights, but in other stakes (like the Kentucky Derby) horses carry weight based on their age and gender.

from equibase... "Three-year-olds 119 Lbs.; Older 123 Lbs. Non-winners of a Grade I at one mile or over in 2009 allowed 2 Lbs.; of a Grade II at one mile or over in 2009 or a Grade I at one mile or over in 2008, 4 Lbs."

Now will someone please tell me what happened?! Those of us without HRTV/TVG want to know!

Still perfect.

Had to run into a sloooow pace. I was getting worried she wouldn't get there in time. First time she has been involved in a photo finish??

All I want for Christmas is a RA v. Zenyatta match up.

She was off by 8 lengths, Mike didnt ask her to about the turn and she really let loose, she just beat annabaa and number 8 by a head.
But to me he went really wide going out of that turn

Photo finish?! Maybe I'm glad I couldn't watch it live-- she would've given me a heart attack.

And really no need to go that wide. Smith had her out in the 7 or 8 path. Heck, the field was all strung out and no need to take her that wide.

He is going to get her beat one of these days with that sort of riding. (And I like M. Smith)

Weve been right here watching. Its interesting how he swings MTB wide too.
Her last race she wasnt swung that wide and secondly he should know that its 1 mile and 1/8th. He needs to adjust for each race, each circumstance. Hell I could have parked my truck in the space that she went out.

Okay
After looking at her last race at Hollywood park she went three wide not eight - this race. So no this wasnt typical.
