I like Ron The Greek in ths race, with the added distance and quicker pace he should be able to run them down in the stretch.

Re: Louisiana Derby
hi JaradM
Fractions aside...Ron the Greek was brought into the Risen star off a 6 furlong co-bullet work ten days before the race, followed by a brisk four furlong work (6/40) just 4 days prior to the race. That made no sense (as far as I'm concerned). Seemed to me that Amoss squeezed too much out of the lemon (if you will)...and I've indicated that previously.
Amoss still leaves me cool, but at least he hasn't followed that same bummer of a work schedule going into the LaDerby (that he used going into the Risen Star). This time he worked RTG 14 days prior to raceday, followed by a work last Saturday (7 days prior to raceday). I have questions regarding the distances and times of both works, but hopefully Amoss has it figured out (after all, that's his job) and Ron the Greek will have a big day.
As far as I'm concerned, RTG's the best horse in the race...but I still have my doubts/concerns (as noted). Hopefully too rider Graham will be cool, calm, well-prepared and smart...keep RTG relaxed but interested, and make the decisions/judgment calls necessary to give his mount the best chance/opportunity to deliver his best possible performance.
All the best to Team RTG...I hope all the dots connect.
Respectfully
