Postby onalimb » Mon Feb 14, 2005 5:09 am

Hi folks I was wondering besides looking at every tracks website is there a way to find out races open to 2 year olds for all tracks for 2005 and also since 2 year olds don't have alot of races uder ther belts how do they decide on who is allowed to enter. (is it by workout times???) thanks.

An owner elects to run his 2 year old against other 2 year olds. You have to llok at each tracks condition book to see when they have 2 year olod races. You won't see many 2 year old races before April and May. At that point, each track has their own rules for entries. It could be a star system or date.

Please remember that owners need to licensed to enter or to run. I hope that this helps. Your trainer should advise you about the entry and licensing requirements.

Most tracks use a date system to determine who gets to run, and who winds up on the also eligible list. The date is based on when your papers are put into the office, and when the horse ran last, or was scratched. Horses who best fit the conditions of the race always get first preference, though.
