Has two horses I like: Thiskyhasnolimit and Make Music for Me. Not sure this is the best spot for either of them, but I am hopeful one of them will make a good account of themselves in here. Should be a very interesting race to watch (and bet upon).

Other than the obvious choice of Sidney's Candy here, I'll be rooting (we'll see if I put my money where my mouth is... ) for Make Music For Me. He was my super-longshot in the Derby, and finished well to be 4th at something like 50-1 odds. Hasn't done much since then, but he does have the back class.

Just looked up Saturday's Santa Anita entries and Equibase shows Sidney's Candy as a scratch for the San Fernando. Anyone know why?

He was found to be off in his right hind.....will undergo a nuclear scan and his trainer hopes he'll be able to make the Strub, Feb 5th. if it isn't serious. TJ

Fun race. It will be interesting to see how Haimish Hy takes to the track - that last workout means business. Worth a bet at 5/1.

Now that Sydney is out I will switch to Indian Firewater and box the two other previously mentioned. I will watch the odds on Indian. I think he has a huge pace advantage in this race and if I can get 7-2 or better I will bet to win as well..

I couldn't believe 5-1. Sometimes you get excellent odds in Stakes races. Got lucky twice as he just held to win by a nose.

Pretty disappointed in Haimish Hy's performance. He looked so good in post parade.. Perhaps he didn't like the dirt.
