well after today, people better take this horse serious...i believe todays win at a mile at gulfstream against some nice horses and 1/5 off course record bodes well for his chances ....true it was only a mile...but if you noticed prado kept after him.....won by 5+ and galloped out nice. all in all a nice comeback race.

He did look very good. The one turn mile suits him well. He ran a 104 Beyer for that effort. Survivalist who ran second would have easily beat the other half of the allowance race ran earlier in the day. He by no means disgraced himself and should move forward hopefully as the distance increases. Does anyone know what kind of Beyer Favre had for his victory in the other allowance race? What kind of Beyer did Survivalist get for his second place effort?

Generally it used to be 2 for a beaten length, which would put that horse around 95, which is not so bad at this time of year for a 3YO. 3YO's have a tendency to "bounce" off a big number and the nice one's come back to a bigget number. Usually a 111 to 115 is plenty good enough to win the Derby. I usually like the Ragozin figures more because they take many other factors into account. If you really like pure Speed figures, they are the best.
