So You Think to the Breeder's Cup
I may get to the B.C. this year if I can organize it then I can see the " big horse" for my self. To be honest I think that Coolmore and O'Brien lost their way with the horse and tried to tap into stamina that is not there. This year he has won two hollow victories in Ireland then beat a very good horse in Workforce who is not a shadow of himself this year. Later he was all out to win the Irish Champion Stakes and ran in the Arc which I thought was a big mistake as it dulled him in the Champion Stakes at Ascot last week where he ran well but could not hold off the French winner. I don't think that he has a prayer in the Classic but my heart wants him to win it all in America and prove what a wonderful horse he is. He is better on his left lead and has natural tactical speed which will help him . Coolmore will probably send him to the breeding shed in both hemispheres after the Classic and basically he has nothing to lose , so as they say in Australia Goodonyamate!

He followed his father footstep..after winning 2003 Irish Champion Stakes..High Chaparral was in the Arc and given a 5&3/4 lengths rout
by Dalakhani, his back to back 3rd in the Arc..HC did score successive wins in 12f Breeders Cup on turf (2002, 2003). A P O'brien must
have drawn some hunch from the experience of Giant's Causeway and Sakhee in the previous 2 years.
Both Sakhee (Arc winner) and Giant's Causeway chose to race in the BC Classic in 2001 & 2000 resp but both were narrowly humiliated by
the same hulking dirt fellow, Horse Of The Year Tiznow.
I dont know if the Classic field is awesome or not in 2011.

I really really like this horse alot. Might be my fav horse in training anywhere.
but he has less than 0% dirt pedigree, and coolmore is 4 for their last 63 in breeders cup races. they are shooting a Tommy gun hoping it hits something for the stallion market.

When I disagree with you BDW etc, etc, I say nothing ,however you have my attention on this point. They are just throwing mud against the wall and hoping some will stick. Coolmore are quite aware that when this horse " shuttles" to the breeding shed in Australia for the southern hemisphere season it will be a slam-dunk. The northern breeding season will come from Feb onwards and they will line up great mares anyway so the horse is sent to the "front line" of American dirt racing just in case his natural speed can help him through. I hope that it does but not for the Coolmore greed emporium! Just for a wonderful horse!

the rewards for hitting (henrythenavigatior, giants causeway) are so big it's worth the risk. you hit 1-2 of those a year, just run GOOD, the don't even have to win, and boom.wilf wrote:When I disagree with you BDW etc, etc, I say nothing ,however you have my attention on this point. with that said i don't see how so you think doesn't stand in Australia. He's a legend down there and they will line up to breed to him, and rightfully so.

Wilf..tks comments..."humiliated" was prob not nice word but not disrespect per se to these 2 long turf & rare multileggers..for
lack of a better word ...my limitation and a pure genetic issue...this time in me
...I love them with no less vigor than anyone.
..I dare bet.
The nitty-gritty downunder remains...can he (So You Think) hold a candle to either Sakhee or GC ? Will Churchill Downs turn into
his Waterloo ?
