THIS IS INTERESTING!!!

The same owner/trainer combo has Night Raptor coming up with Eddie Martin in race 14 at FG. They also ran Fast Wolf in the first race...he came in 6th.

In two days, they had 12 starts, 7 wins, 1 place, 1 show, 2 4ths, and the 6th shown above.

what really impressed me about his run is that fair grounds is a verey deep track and he did not pick up the pieces or antyhing he was in it the entire race. he might not win the derby in fact i'm sure he won't, but he will go 10F IMHO. MV wasn't getting past him if they ran around the track again.

Wow, in constant 2010 dollars, Hero of Order was a less expensive acquisition than Canonero!

Canonero ($1100 in 1969) $6467 in 2010

Hero to Order $3000 in 2010

Thanks babyrabicano for catching my BIG errors -

Hmmm - think I may need to institute a personal cooling off period after major racing surprises and my online research/posting of same.....apparently in my excitement my slight dyslexia goes totally haywire(!).....have no idea where I got the 'Smart Strike' from?

Anyway I heard via HRTV a bit later that because Hero wasn't ever nominated to the Derby he is highly unlikely to get 'drawn in' - even if his trainer/connections wish to pay the $220+K supplement. That will only put him on the 'also possible' (or some other title) list.....while it doesn't rule him out (the analysts cited a D. Wayne entry that made it into the Derby off just this same list which he had supplemented for the large bucks) it isn't likely per the spokesperson they were tele-interviewing from Churchhill to actually make the Derby....despite his now superior G-1 earnings as compared to others on the Derby Nominated Entry Possible list who must worry about getting bumped in these final weeks of racing.
