Rail Trip is back!!

Postby bdw0617 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 5:50 pm

I don't think i have been this happy to see a race that i have not had any money on in my life. I love this horse and I hated to see what Dutrow did to him having him running in non graded stakes and running up the track at that

Rail trip doesn't even like polytrack and won today beating a very impressive group of horses.

what a difference a trainer makes. idiots for taking him from Ellis in the first place.

Looking forward to seeing what he does this . there was actually a lot of chatter that the horse should be retired beucase he "obliviously did not have it anymore" nonsense.

All of his 9 wins have come on synthetics. with four seconds and a third from 15 starts.

How can you celebrate a horse like Rail Trip, and then "accuse" Winter Memories of being over-rated?
You are confusing beyond belief.

did you not read what i said. I said he hates polytrack not synethics.

santa anita had a pro ride and hollywood had cushion. he has never won a race at del mar (I believe). he runs okay but he loves hollywood park's track and runs good at santa anita. del mar is the track he really isn't all that fond of and he won today.

we have had syethhic tracks for like 6 years now i can't believe there are still people who think all synthetics tracks are one in the same. cushion couldn't possibly be any different from pro ride which couldn't possibly be more different from polytrack. very rarely does a horse love all three, unless you are zenytta

[/code]because rail trip actually has legit talent. he beats really good horses and even owned the track record for a 10F race at Hollywood park. in the gold cup.

his is a just a case of bad timing, frailness and mis management. but in 2010 when rail trip was in his top form I don't think zenyatta wanted any part of him. not saying she wasn't going to win but it would have been a hell of a race.

what i really do not understand is why are you allowed to think a horse is great and I am not allowed to think a horse is overrated. it's my freaking opinion. if you don't like it oh well, i don't understand the dire need for me to have a uniformed opinion with everyone else. I watch more than enough horse racing to be able to develop my own opinion on the horses and performances I see.

Where did I say the gray mare was great?

You have a lot of excuses for Rail Trip, but you won't accept any excuse for Winter Memories. They are horses. They will always have an excuse because they are living, breathing animals.

Comparing Rail Trip to Zenyatta is a moot point. Totally irrelevant. Where is Zenyatta even a part of this?

Just because you watch "more than enough horse racing" to develop an opinion doesn't mean your opinion isn't debatable.

Rail Trip is a nice horse who has won over the various forms of synthetic materials and wax in California. I do wonder why there is no distinction made between the various surface types of these courses....they are all listed as simply "All Weather Track's" in the charts....somewhat down playing any difference between them. I can't agree with you when you say Rail Trip wasn't fond of the Del Mar surface simply because it was the first time he's ever raced over it? Also don't think the field was an outstanding group. The horse he barely beat, John Scott ran once in graded company...dead heating for 4th in a GR 1. These two have run two times against each other, both coming away with a 1/2 length victory.
Rail Trip is a decent sort who is limited in his ability to running over synthetic surfaces. If Ellis is able to win with this horse on the dirt.....that would be an impressive training feat to my way of thinking. Yet, you have to give credit where credit is due and although I don't share your opinion of Rail Trip I can appreciate what he has done and the fact he's still going at seven years old. I wish him a long and healthy career. TJ

i did read what you said. You said he doesnt like polytrack. I was simply stating that all of his wins have come on synthetics. What in that statement took the cream out of your twinkie?

I never called you stupid, so don't put words in my mouth.

I find holes in your arguments.
