I agree with TJ in that this is the best post ever posted by you. I would only add that it takes an extreme homophobe just to spot it right off the bat.

It was not meant as a snipe, all I wanted to add was my opinion as to what type of people would notice it right away and not read the article to find out who "Gay" was as a person, understand?

DDT, I'm not an 'extreme homophobe' and I also think that the headline was confusing. I did realize, once I read the article, that the person's last name is 'Gay', but lack of reading comprehension isn't the same as homophobia. One of the issues on the ballot in my state regards Gay marriage, so when I see 'Gay' in a headline, I expect it to mean homosexual.

Just my two cents.

Have you ever read about sexual preferences in any article published by the Bloodhorse? I cannot remember any except maybe when discussing War Emblem. The Bloodhorse is not in the habit of doing that, and yes, the headline is worded badly and funny, but a gay person is not the first thing I thought about when reading it, excuse me for having an opinion, I apologize if I offended bdw or anyone else on the forum.

On the other hand, headlines about some CW singer named Straight tend to give me pause.

The fact that he is interactive should be cause for concern, you might get 100 gay men turning up at the next meet looking for some interaction with Mr Gay.

Hi Patuxet,
The headlines would have given you pause in 1989, when Straight (Strait) received the Connie B. Gay award:>) TJ

DDT,

I understand that you have an opinion, so do I.

All I did was point out that a person doesn't have to be an 'extreme homophobe' to be confused by that headline when they first read it.

Kudos to you for realizing that the Bloodhorse wouldn't write about sexual preferences. I guess I'm not that savvy. Does that mean I'm a homophobe?
According to you I must be. I hope my gay friends don't find out....

Just my opinion, of course...[/b]

I should have been much more specific in my statement, I should have said not many people that were regular readers of the Bloodhorse would automatically assume that it was about a gay person, I certainly could be wrong about that, at any rate I have apologized for the remark and the opinion. I see you have a few snipes of your own. Again, I apologize to bdw and the members of the forum that may have been offended by my post.

We'll see a real "Gay" president of Churchill Downs about the same time one of those Keeneland horse handlers is elected Governor of Kentucky..
