Photos of Verrazano at the Tampa Bay Derby

A very impressive looking horse as you can see. It was an electric atmosphere in the walking ring with many of the other horse's owners snapping pictures of Verrazano. In the first photo you can see Mark Casse and Kenny McPeek in the background checking him out.

Hi TJ,

Doing great thanks. It was a beautiful day at the track, a crowd of over 10,000 attended. I think they could have had more but it was harder to market than when champion War Pass came. "Hey everybody come out to see an allowance winner that might be the next...." wouldn't have had the same pull. The fans that were there did seem to know what they were witnessing though, lots of cameras clicking.

Thank you for the pictures! Did you get an impression of how tall he is?

I read somewhere where Todd Pletcher "thought" he was 16.3. He looked about 16.2 to me but maybe he's not done yet.
