Interesting reading . . . note the comments by the Chair and the Chair of the Medication and Track Safety Committee on page 179 lines 18 - 25 and page 180 lines 1 -3, suggesting that there is nothing from stopping the Board from revisiting this issue.

The overkill was the death of the seven horses.

For horse racing fans, this is the most important issue of our time and the doping of race horses has everything to do with racing. I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts.

A meaningless opinion, with a few sour grapes. If it is what you say it is, prove it. All of my posts have been in compliance with forum rules, like it or not.

Seriously though, drugs will always be a part of a competition, especially where money is involved, ESPECIALLY when the victims don't have a voice (the horses). I also feel that you are wasting your energy here, unless there is someone on this forum that can change what is going on. Is there? Maybe you could write a book?

Again that's what always happens with lightly moderated or unmoderated internet forums and not just in racing. I give you credit for fighting the good fight and trying to preserve honest debate but another truism is that attention is what some posters crave. The problem is self correcting when you don't take the bait (and believe me, I know how tough it is

Hi Sy,
I prefer having a sensible discussion or debate as opposed to a good fight:>). Which hopefully will encourage my thoughtful contemplation of other peoples perspectives on the subject. This type of dialogue will many times create a new learning experience, or better comprehension to those participating in and/or reading the thread. I enjoy it because it keeps me sharp and attuned to racing, which has been good to me. But continued bashing of racing over the less then 1% of cheaters is obscene. Then again this is the internet and such criticism is to be expected. Yet the continued barrage of posts publicizing the less then 1% of cheaters, which Cree has posted, is a bit much. TJ

For horse racing fans in America, the most important issue is the continuing effort to rid horse racing of performance enhancing drugs. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE OF OUR TIME. I am pleased to voice my concerns regarding this issue and will continue to do so. Fine with me should I take a few jabs here and there from those on the other side who continue to believe performance enhancing drugs are good for the sport - that is part of the human discourse. There will always be someone on the other side that disagrees. With respect to what is "obscene" and what is a "barrage," it is my opinion that the deaths of seven horses was not only a barrage of deaths, but horribly obscene.

Ahh, once again the same rhetoric reiterated.....without acknowledging the reform effort currently underway in the racing industry. January 1, 2014 will be the start of many racing jurisdictions, who are currently signed on to abiding to the new racing rules, restrictions, reforms and penalties outlined by the RMTC. What is disturbing is that you are not aware of this. TJ

Quite the contrary. I am, have read twice and I am continuing to read the new drug standards (if that what you want to call them). In addition, I have read almost everything about the RMTC and the RCI. I am preparing a post on this subject matter . . .
