Great racehorses by affordable stallions

Postby Keith » Tue Mar 22, 2005 6:18 pm

Great racehorses off the top of my mind with pedigrees that are affordable or not considered well bred.

1. Buddy Gil by Eastern Echo-Really Rising by For Really won Santa Anita Derby and San Felipe H. 3x4 Northern Dancer
2. Xtra Heat by Dixieland Heat-Begin by Hatchet Man Champion 3 year old filly. won $2,174,635
3. Heartlight No. One by Rock Talk-Icantell by Tell Champion 3-year old filly 4x5 Knight's Daughter
4. Bet Twice by Sportin Life-Golden Dust by Dusty Canyon won Belmont S. 4x4 Nasrullah 5x5x5x5 Nearco
5. Snow Chief by Reflected Glory-Miss Snowflake by Snow Sporting won Preakness S. 5x5 Embrujo
6. Prairie Bayou by Little Missouri-Whiffling by Wavering Monarch won Preakness S. 3x4 Bold Ruler 5x5 Tom Fool
7. John Henry by Ole Bob Bowers-Once Double by Double Jay 4x4 Bull Dog 4x5 Blue Larkspur Horse of the Year twice and just turned 30
8. Greater Good by Intidab-Gather the Clan by General Assembly 4x4 Bold Ruler 4x5 Native Dancer a leading contender for the Arkansas Derby.

Are there any other great racehorses you know that have very affordable pedigrees?

hi Keith

Skip Away (Horse of the Year and $9.6 mil earner) is by Skip Trial ($5,000 LF).

Best of the Rest ($1.4 mil earner) is by Skip Trial also.

Heritage of Gold is another. Her sire Gold Legend is a cheap sire (monetarily at least).
