1 mile dirt in 1:30 and change (almost)

Postby Jorge » Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:12 pm

I was wondering if the 1-mile
fractional of 1:31.02 achieved today
in the 2014 Santa Anita Handicap
has been the fastest registry ever
made on a non-turf racetrack.

Note that with 3/100th
of a second less we would
have dealt with a historical mile
in 1:30.00

Santa Anita H. 2014

2 furlongs in 0:22.91 ---understandable fractional
4 furlongs in 0:45.39 ---understandable fractional
6 furlongs in 1:09.39 ---understandable fractional
8 furlongs in 1:31.02 ---a very outrageous fractional!
10 furlongs in 1:58.17 ---awesome fractional!

Thanks for your comments.

today's race IMHO was more impressive than his big cap last year.

TJ,

Thank you so much for the official chart referral.
Hmmm, I was basing my comment on the teletimer registry
that appeared on the replay video.

Can someone provide additional details on why those differences?
