Re: Untapable Will Run in The GR I Haskell
I am really looking forward to this race and seeing how she does against these boys. Other than her, I think Bayern is the one to beat, if he can stretch out a little.

Excellent the older Medal Count (may foal) gets the better he should get.

Good race. I do have a fondness for Medal Count.

Re: Untapable Will Run in The GR I Haskell
There is a lot more speed in this race (compared to the Jim Dandy).
The filly has been beating up on a poor looking sophomore filly group, and I am skeptical of Bayern stretching out. Wildcat Red intrigues me, but I never trust Gulfstream stars after the spring. I also think Medal Count could get up to win this. The more I look at him the more I like him.

Re: Untapable Will Run in The GR I Haskell
None of the males entered have run a mile and an eighth faster than the filly and only Social Inclusion's track record setting run at Gulfstream is faster at a mile and a sixteenth. The filly should win this race and in my opinion if you can get her at 2-1 or better it is a gift from the racing gods. Wildcat Red will give her all the pace she needs. I have given up on Social Inclusion but he gets Prado and if he is allowed to run free he could provide some drama to an otherwise lack luster field for a Grade 1 race. Good luck to all and may they all have a safe trip.

Don't really like the race. Though Social Inclusion was mismanaged and over raced, running 5 times in less then 5 months. He was trained to run 1 1/2, instead dropped into a sprint on Belmont day. He finally gets some time off, they remove the lasix in hopes he will settle better going to the post and switches to Edgar Prado. TJ

Strange race

Dunno where to start - good to see the track announcer finally get the pronunciation right of Bayern.
Bayern ran his race did anything in behind run theirs?
They couldn't all have had an off day?
Is Bayern that good? Last two wins both by 7L.
Confused.....

Hi Dub,
Not so confusing...Monmouth favors speed. I picked the wrong speed horse because I fell for their idea Social Inclusion would get less agitated going to the post without lasix. He was worse and he looked it....sweating profusely with kidney sweat dripping between his legs going to the post....he was washed out before the start and showed it when he broke poorly. Bayern looked better then any horse in the field....he wasn't hot at all, perfectly calm, drew the preferred inside post and has never lost a race wearing blinker's....he is now 4 for 4 with blinkers on, though he was DQ'd in one of them.
The filly won her 2 turn races against her own, passing the 3/4 fraction no faster then 1:12....the boys are much quicker. Untapable is a nervous sort and not very robust, it was a mistake running her against the boys. TJ
Re: Untapable Will Run in The GR I Haskell
I continue to be impressed by Wildcat Red. The horse always tries. Kudos to Garaffalo for picking him out for a song. Its my hope that they continue to manage him well and earn a good return. Cigar Mile?
Re: Untapable Will Run in The GR I Haskell
I like Wildcat Red too! He's a game s.o.b.
In other news, Chad Brown has now been named the trainer of Social Inclusion.
As for Untapable, I know people were eager to compare her to the incomparable Rachel Alexandra, but perhaps we should just let her be Untapable for now. I think the 3-year-old fillies are just not that strong this year (after last year's awesome crop). The Cotillion is listed as her next start.
