A question, there's an English sunrise on equibase who was born in 2009 is that your filly?

The value of the filly remains the same as before VE Days win all that has changed is the price her owner wants for her if she sells.

Value does not equal price, they are two seperate things.

Well, bless your heart. It's sad that you can't be happy for us, like everyone else. We've all been in this business for 25+ years, and this truly is a big thing to us. We're going to enjoy it. :)

Congrats Maureen! The "price/value" of your filly has significantly increased and could well continue to do so. I think Dublino's use of the term, "value" could be also be called "personal opinion".

I think it may be the last time one will see blinkers on Tonalist, as he clearly attended the pace too closely to be a late factor in the race. That was not his style, and although the blinkers were needed early in his career to keep him close enough to be effective, it appears he has figured the game out and no longer needs blinkers.

Maureen, when will your filly run?

Congrats to Jimmy Jerkens and his crew for the outstanding 1-2 finish!
A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.

She was scheduled for her third or fourth work yesterday, but trainer was scared to even take her out of her stall for fear something might happen to her. Her insurance was upped considerably yesterday afternoon, so he feels a bit safer now. ;)

Her pedigree alone speaks for itself.
V E Day just made her a full sister to a G1 winner on dirt. I don't exactly see how that doesn't increase her value. By the picture, she looks nicely balanced, and she reminds me physically of Strait of Dover at 2.

There is a youtube video of her last work, but I don't know how to post it here. Anyone tell me how?

You might try copying it from the address bar and then pasting it here, so it will end being a link that people can click on. I haven't tried it for youtube but it works for vimeo.

Your filly in her picture has the distinctive can't-miss English channel shoulder. My yearling and suckling both have that. They are also chestnuts and there are lots of similarities between them and yours. Soooo happy for you.

Congrats to you I am happy for you, seriously.

The value of the filly in question (sires stud fee $25,000 + dam sold for $220,000 / 4 + cost of getting the filly reared and pretrained)

Value I would estimate her to be about $120,000.

Price that you could ask without raising eyebrows $350,000+

Again congrats but price does not equal value, they are two different words.

Hi Maureen,
Thought you'd like to read this...both your fillies are mentioned in this English Channel article written by Frank Mitchell. TJ

Here is a colt who just sold for £230,000 as a yearling who was bought for £13,000 as a weanlling.

The price has increased but the value of the horse remains the same.

And in my opinion not even seeing the horse it looks like a waste of money.
Its an over-reaction by the owner who had a G1 winner by the sire last Sunday.

Here is the colts pedigree

Can anyone verify a report that V.E. Day's dam, California Sunset, was sold after his Travers Victory?
