My little broken heart...but so happy he will live out his days at his home. His career is nothing to sneeze at. He was incredible.

I was hoping to get to Woodbine for his comeback in the Mile, but c'est la vie!

He was a great racehorse, and perhaps a bit under-appreciated. He was obviously a tremendous Turf Miler, but he also won the G1 Clark Handicap (1 1/8 miles) on the dirt and was beaten only a head in a driving finish of the G1 Stephen Foster (1 1/8 miles dirt).

Wise Dan was also the beneficiary of a talented old-time horseman in Charlie Lopresti. In an age where many trainers have higher monthly vet bills than training bills, Charlie's low monthly vet bills speak mountains.

Well said, DH.
