fAIRGROUNDS Sunday March 5, 2017, Race 7

Interesting race for 3 year olds. Maiden winner Excitations is highly regarded and could be using this as a prep for the Louisiana Derby. Underpressure, by Birdstone out of a Charismatic mare, won a Louisiana state bred stakes at a mile and could improve with added distance.

Pat on the Back showed nice 2yo form. Would have liked to see him get a layoff. Last two were throwouts running wide. Interesting pick with a trip.

Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.

The time was comparable to the Risen Star though the pace was slower. If I owned the winner or Underpressure, who was closing at the end, I would be tempted to go to the Louisiana Derby.
