Santa Anita

Postby madelyn » Sun Nov 03, 2019 7:49 am

So now Mongolian Groom shattered a leg in the Classic. When will they suck it up and admit the problem is NOT the trainers, NOT the horses and it's their TRACK that is the problem?? Poor Jerry Hollendorfer going through all that persecution like he is a sacrificial lamb to COVER up the mess that Santa Anita is. They need to shut down, probably rip up the Whole Track and start again.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

I think it is a new surface at least. Deeper, slower. Rest of the week was OK though? The trainer didn't like the horse's last work. Regrettin' not scratching now. First timers in the big show. The jock was flailing on him as well, after a very tough 9f.

Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.

First time on the big stage?
Ummm....Mongolian Saturday?

Consider this - is it possible that the idiots at Santa Anita slowed the track down and deepened it so much (they did) that those actions were responsible for tiriing MG so much that he broke down? Remember - he won on a different SA weeks ago.

They definitely did something to slow down the track as all the dirt races were quite slow.....on a track that usually has very fast times. 1:36+ wins the dirt mile!!!
