Re: Frankie Dettori
Chaldean became second in the St. James' Palace Stakes. There are still a few chances....Frankie will ride Saga for the KIng & Queen in the Wolferton Stakes.
The more I get to know people, the more I love animals.
Re: Frankie Dettori
Frankie Dettori had a frustrating first day at his final Royal Ascot, finishing runner-up in two races with Chaldean beaten comprehensively by Paddington in the St James’s Palace Stakes and Inspiral narrowly beaten in the opening Queen Anne.
Re: Frankie Dettori
In the opening race the crowd got ever louder as Dettori’s mount Inspiral appeared poised to strike but he could find no way past the eventual 33-1 winner, Triple Time. Then, in the fourth, Dettori coaxed his mount Givemethebeatboys to the front only for River Tiber to pound past him in the final furlong. Again anticipation turned to deflation. To make matters worse for Dettori, he was then handed a nine-day ban for careless riding following his ride on Saga, which will start in early July.

No quit in that guy. Going out in style, a winner.
Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.
Re: Frankie Dettori
Frankie Dettori's bid to win every top-level Group One race in Britain has been scuppered by a whip ban which rules him out of the July Cup.The 52-year-old Italian, who retires later this year, has been suspended for eight days for using the whip once over the limit on Inspiral at Royal Ascot.
Re: Frankie Dettori
Frankie Dettori will captain team Europe as he partakes in his final Shergar Cup at Ascot in August.
The event will be Dettori’s 12th appearance at the meeting, having been on the winning team three times.
Having first taken part in 2000, Dettori was most recently successful in 2014 and will join French rider Olivier Peslier and Kazakh-born Bauyrzhan Murzabayev on team Europe.
Dettori said: “The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup is always a fun event and I was keen to be involved in my final year riding.
“Ascot does an excellent job attracting some of the biggest names from around the world, while the prize money and incentives for owners, trainers and stable staff are fantastic.

King Of Steel provided Frankie Dettori with the perfect send-off as they combined for a fairytale success in the Champion Stakes at Ascot. Roger Varian’s Derby runner-up was the Italian’s final mount on British soil before jetting off for his new venture in California and they proved a match made in heaven in the British Champions Day feature.
Re: Frankie Dettori
Frankie Dettori will miss next month's Melbourne Cup after being given bans totalling 16 days for breaching whip rules on his final outing in Britain.
He used his whip once above the permitted level of six in both winning aboard Trawlerman and finishing second with Kinross on British Champions Day.
