Dream Of Summer: Brilliant Win in the Apple Blossum

Postby ZiaLand » Sat Apr 09, 2005 4:53 pm

Congratulations to Dream of Summer and her connections for a brilliant win in the Apple Blossum. With competition like Ashado this was no small feat. Looked like she won it virtually wire-to-wire.

Smile Michael. You must be proud! :D

Michael, I guess it doesn't hurt to have a grade 1 winner by your stallion, eh? 8) Bet you're grinning from ear to ear. Hope your teeth are picture perfect for the cameras. :P

She got a GREAT ride by PVal. For all his warts he is a tremendous rider. Today was as good as it gets in regards to race riding as he not only rode his horse masterfully but "rode" several others as the race unfolded boxing them in and shutting them off at key stages. Add to that his strength and ability in finishing down the stretch. WOW! It was as good as it gets.

A lovely mare and a great achievement. Congratulations all around.

There's a really nice write-up on the race in the last Blood-Horse issue.

Just curious if anyone knows of other Siberian Summer x Skywalker or Bertrando mares out there, and what they've done?
