Top Earnings

Postby ZiaLand » Sun Apr 17, 2005 2:55 pm

Thought this was interesting...from Equibase:

As Of April 16, 2005

High Fly $871,500
Rock Hard Ten $780,000
Afleet Alex $635,000
Bandini $564,000
Musique Toujours $550,000

I hadn't realized High Fly has earned $235,000 more than Afleet Alex. I'm also surprised that Bandini is on the list, but not Rockport Harbor.

Musique Toujours is interesting. Seems to have really outperformed his pedigree.

hi ZiaLand

I expect those totals probably represent earnings in 2005...only.

FOS do you remember how much someone offered to buy AA last year for. At the time I thought they should have sold the animal...I am thinking it was 3 or 4 mil ... I was dead wrong

Aha, FOS...you must be right. These have to be only 2005 earnings.

hi freddymo

I'm not aware of any big offer that was tendered for Afleet Alex...but...

...my understanding is that the colt was purchased for $75k from a previous owner who had apparently paid significantly more...but was not particularly pleased with how the colt was progressing.

I suppose the rest is history.

He's one heck of a race horse.

Best to you.

Don't you know that former owner has to be kicking himself or herself about now. Talk about the one that got away!
