How good to see Amerigo in there. What a gorgeous horse and progenitor of stamina and soundness. From those few foals, he sired horses who started 65, 59, 36, 37, 62, 55, 49, 54, 56, 75, 99, 44, 35, 72, and 64 times (among those listed). What a shame he didn't live longer and stamp that durability and stamina for future generations.

When I was in my teens I remember that Amerigo was a superior runner on turf.

Amerigo was one of my favorite turf TB. Thanks for the memories.

I'm a big fan of Amerigo as well (BTW, check out the incredible Aussie Mare Makybe Diva's damline).

I remember that Amerigo had to be blindfolded before being loaded into the starting gate, as he was a bad boy at the gate.
