Motivator beaten by Oratorio

Postby Bumblebee » Sat Jul 02, 2005 2:48 pm

Oratario beat Motivator in the Eclipse at Sandown today. Now, I have to say this is a big surprise to me. I did not rate him very much. He flew home against Dubawi in the Irish Guineas, suggesting a little bit more distance would suit, but he failed in the Derby.

Now, the main thing that this race did is made me wonder about Dubawi. I, for one, would love to see Dubawi end up top of his class this year. I thought his sire was an absolutely sublime racehorse and I would love one of his offspring to follow-up on him.

What could Dubawi have done over this distance? 10f should suit him and I am sure he will be up against Oratorio and/or Motivator later in the year. He ran a brave Derby for a horse that does not really stay 12f.

Ok, this thread was supposed to be about Oratorio, but I let Dubawi steal his sunlight.

If dreams could come true, Dubai Millennium would live on in many generations to come.

Anyway, great win by Oratorio to go back on that subject. No disgrace for Motivator and he will be back to fight another day. I just did not expect him to get beaten.

Huge form reversal for the big O. Motivator crushed him at Epsom.
Motivator not even close to his best for the race way too eager.

The name of the game is class and condition, as evidence of Oratorio super, super form. Congrats as it was the day of Oratorio.

I always love the under dog at high odds. Go Dog Go.
