Little Stormy Memo

Postby madelyn » Tue Jul 28, 2020 5:51 am

Gritty little Stormy Memo is in again at Belterra Park today in the 8th for a field of 10 in the 10 hole. Our darling Abel Lezcano is in hospital since a week last Saturday with very serious kidney failure - send prayers. His wife set up a gofundme I think even with insurance and what the Jockey's funds chip in they are facing massive medical bills. Anyhow it's my first time with John McKee in the irons; he's a really short guy so he should fit nicely on this little gal.

First post in years. Saw the race. What a tough beat. She ran too good to lose.. Nice little mare with a big heart..

Thanks - got beat by my pals! But the other side is a check for 2nd and keep conditions. She is still NW3 and we should be able to get that one - this was a salty bunch NW 6 months. What she beat she beat well. Loved John McKee on her and he loved her.

We did it again yesterday, the 2nd in the 2nd at Belterra. Tough little filly. Got bested by one dropping pretty far down, but you had to look for the rest with a search warrant....

And Stormy Memo proves she really can do anything - 5 -1/2 furlongs in really sloppy slop, 2nd again! 6th today at Belterra, post 1. Joe Ramos first time on her loved her lots! McKee had another call, patted me on the shoulder after and said my horse ran a great race. Stormy Memo, 6 starts so far this year 3-3-3-2-2-2!!!!

Getting some real traction, despite the slop!

So Stormy Memo came home for the winter, shoes off, left fore strained ligament at the knee.... and we decided to let her be a brood mare. Tough gritty mare. She is maybe 15.3 stocky with good bone nice balance etc. Fits nicely with Cinco Charlie. Didn't want a hulk for her first foal.. Bred her March 30. We'll see.

Sorry she resorbed. Hopefully you find a good stud for her next year.

He was missing from the roster and then I saw that Jay Goodwin was the agent for the sale.
