Smokie to go at Hawthorne Saturday

Postby geowarrior » Fri Oct 13, 2006 8:15 am

Citi Smoke is entered in a Maiden Special Weight on Saturday at Hawthorne, Race 2, 6f. Since he has been third in his previous two outings and has learned a lot from them, we have high hopes, but he has to break from the gate a bit faster than he has been doing. But he has a fierce will to win and a fantastic finishing kick, so I hope this is his time to break his maiden.

Although I haven't had surgery yet my neck feels a bit better so I think I'll be able to watch it on the internet without too much pain.

Go Smokie!

Good luck to you, I hope he gives you a win picture to add to your first one so you can start a "collection."

Thanks for the good wishes people.

Well I missed Smokie's race because I got the time wrong! According to Hawthorne racetrack he came 5th, according to Bris he came 4th. :?: Ok so I choose 4th. Stable report says he'll be wearing blinkers next time as he's not paying attention. He did however break faster from the gate. I can't help feeling he needs a longer distance, but they want to keep running him at 6f until he's used to the one-turn scenario. It's true he is a bit of a slow learner, and lets face it, what do I know, I can't even get the race time right.

Oriental Rose will run at Hawthorne or at Keeneland on Friday so of course I'll miss the race because I'll be working. It seems to be my fate at the moment to miss races.

I suppose work first fun later on
Some horses needs a long time for learning others know everything they should by birth.
So good luck.

Good luck, Geowarrior.

I also have a Smokie (Smoke Byda Sea) by Smoke Glacken. Unraced filly, though. I'll try to remember to load your Smokie in my virtual stable.
