Bird of War

Postby 30west » Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:09 pm

My 2 year old filly I bought at the obs sale in florida will be entered to run on June the 24th at Charles Town....her name is Bird of War. She will start with first time lasix, she has been training great, she is fast out of the gate.....tough to win first time out, might need one but we have her as ready as possible and she is cranked up!!!!!!...she will breeze a slow 3/8ths on saturday just to calm her down a bit so she isn't to keyed up for her race!.......

Looking at the entries' pedigrees I think Bird of War has the best genes.

Couple of the fillies are not in the database, but BOW has the highest GSV of the 7 I could look at.

I think your comp will come from Lucky Mommy and Candy Kokand (not in DB and only because odds wise she is favorded) 3/1 to BOW 7/2.

to me the sleeper could be Rugby's Nellie.

Good Luck

Rugbys is the sleeper in the race, O. Flores was working my filly and told us last week that he has to ride the other filly because she is west virgina bred, but they are pretty much even!..He thinks he can make more money on the other filly, being eligible to run in the WV-bred races...I ended up putting my friend Sunday on, he was on her for her last work and told me I got something special here, he loves her! Just need some good luck!

Bird of War ran a great race!...Finished second, she chased the winner the whole time, winner won by many and in a fast time, hope my filly can improve off the effort last night and she will be a winner next time out!

looks like Flores lost his ride for this one all together.

Congrats on a second place finish.

I will, Sunday will ride her back!

birdy came out of her race in good order, went back to the track today for a nice jog, she was bucking and playing the whole time! After the race she only drank a half bucket of water, so it did not take that much out of. Hopefully we catch a dry track next time!

We ran Bird of War back last night!....she ran a great race just getting beat right at the wire,...can't blame her she opened up 4 in the stretch and the rider thought he had it won and never saw the other horse coming so he was hand riding her home and she just got zapped right at the wire. I'm happy she ran great!..that 2 races and she was 2nd in both, hopefully next time she breaks her maiden!
