I saw the race... the one we foaled out was the winner, so it was nice to "know" the top two! Hey, a consistant in-the-money horse will always pay it's own bills... sounds like you've got a horse who will pay her own way and then some. She'll probably get you to the winner's circle next time out.

Man, that's a shame. Amazing that she took second with that type of injury. No telling what she could've done...
I saw the other post about turning her into a broodmare. Hopefully she'll pass on that heart to her babies.

Maybe the body will heel the problems given enough time.
It depends a lot how the filly is made up in her mind, quite or not
Get my fingers crossing for you and the filly.
A friend of mine is having two broodmares, the were sent to the same
stallion. The people out there sends both of them in the same pasture, but one of them is very domininating. So struck with her hind feet the other one high on the front upper leg, which broke completely.
After five weeks laying in the stable she came up, first making one step a day and now after 4 months she is galopping in the pasture beiing in foal
safe.
The trainer and his staff took over after 6 weeks, lifting her our the stable and puts her in the pasture together with a real guite gal around for social contact. Now you,re only see something on her, as her musscles have not returned completely on her shoulder and the upper leg.
So things might change.
