Dark Nemesis

Postby Roguelet » Wed Nov 14, 2007 5:18 am

He'll race again Friday. He's had some issues with his last two races; lugging out, flipping his pallate, etc. with a different jockey than the one who rode him to his 2nd place "near miss" and then his win, so we're doing a jockey change. We were supposed to get the original guy back, but he's on another horse... don't know if that means he was named up on that one first or if he thinks that one is better than ours... guess we'll see on Friday. I just hope he gets along well with this new jockey. I believe the trainer has been using a different bit as well.

Anyhoo, here's the field. He's high weight again, for the 3rd time in a row, but this time it's only by one pound:

that's a pretty stout jockey coloney you have there. Mojica, Thompson and lebron can ride anywhere in the country.

you have a very good joc, I wouldn't be worried about that.

good luck!

Yeah, that's Mojica in the picture. He does very well with the horse and we were hoping to get him back. You're right, though, Thompson is a good rider... I just hope he gets along well with the horse. If he does, I'm sure it will be fine.

Thanks... I think he could have won. He was in front several times, even down the stretch. Each time someone pulled ahead of him a bit he came right back.

He can really surge when asked to, but he got a hand ride in at the end... not really sure why. He only lost by 1/2 length. I can't help but think that if he was asked a bit more at the end, he would've surged ahead and won.

But, woulda coulda shoulda doesn't make much difference, so we'll just take the 2nd place finish and be happy with it. The meet's done Saturday, so he gets to take a winter vacation. Hopefully he'll come back and kick their butts at Indiana Downs in the Spring. His momma did her best racing and had an AMAZING year as a 5 YO, so perhaps he'll follow in her footsteps.

Just think, maybe he was thinking ahead for you by saving that condition until Indiana Downs. Maybe the purses will go up some by then and make it even better for him to run out his other two state bred conditions.
