Looking for owner of Liltoughridinghood....

Postby witherbee » Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:20 am

Hi - me again, looking for a 2004 filly named Liltoughridinghood. She worked at Remmington Park earlier this month, but the man who owned her sold her and he doesn't remember the name of the person. I had offered to buy her, but I guess these folks saw her work and bought her there. I am the breeder and just want to keep in touch and let them know that we are interested in buying her, or will be available if she has any issues and needs a home. Honest, I'm not a stalker lol! - just want to keep track of her so that she doesn't wend her way down to an auction or a bad place. Would like to have her here, or just make sure that she continues to have good homes. This filly was bred in NY, lived in MA for a while, moved with us to FL and then was sold and went to AZ and was put in a QH type auction in OK, spent last winter in SD, was supposed to go to Canada and was sold and went back to OK. She's well travelled! Any help appreciated.

Found her!

Found her - she seems to be in good hands. I have made an offer on her and will continue to watch her. She'll be racing at Will Rogers Park in OK this winter for anyone who is near there....

Well good for you!!! I hope it works out the way you'd like...but at least, as you say, she is in good hands.

Yes, I am relieved because she's already been to auction once in OK, and I worry that she could end up in the wrong hands. A young TB in QH country can quickly go downhill. The good thing is that they like to race QHs there and often breed them to TBs to get more speed. She has early speed, so they may desire her for a broodmare, but at auction the people would not know her history. My heart would just break if she got passed around, injured or sent to slaughter, so I am determined to keep an eye on her.
Fingers crossed that I can keep watch over her - Will Rogers Park does not have a website, and I only have the phone number of the trainer...

Who's the trainer, I can tell you how good hands she is in (by the way Lady's Secret survived in OK, I'm sure this filly will).

Yes, both good and bad things can happen to any horse, anywhere, but it's tough to have her so far away and having been through so many hands.
Her current trainer is F.L. Downey. PM me if you have anything negative to say or email me at [email protected] ....
Thanks! I have not heard back from them, so it sounds like they are not ready to sell her yet. Will try to keep tabs on her, but wish it was a more mainstream track so I could check works etc. She is in my Stable Watch.

Will Rogers Downs was bought by the Cherokee Tribe and the track is being redone. There will be no horses on the grounds until December. You can get her works and races through DRF Watches like any other track, it is not listed now because there are no horses during the upgrading. Will Rogers Downs has applied for 44 days Feb. 16 thru May 26 for 2008. You can get WRD website by going here: www.cherokeecasino.com
Click Will Rogers Downs (someone ought to tell them but my wife is one of them so I know better).
