Well our Maiden Spec. race at MNR did not turn out as good as we wanted, but Moody Coach came out of the race okay...hopefully a little more speed earlier in the drive for home, but for a 1st time starter in good company...finishing 7th and picking up horses in the stretch run, we were okay with the results. Back to the training and getting in another race within the next 12 days.

One good note, Met Caryn from Ky. and Caraway Farms...You and your friend were very gracious...I was happy for your horse coming in a game second...The winner of your race was close to being scratched because of the happenings in the paddock. Otherwise you would have been the winner...that ticked me off...if anyone of us would have had a horse that acted that way in the paddock they would have scratched them in a second!

Good Luck with the filly...she will break her maiden next time out!

Caraway has done a great job training our filly thus far and has been able to give her the personalized attention no other trainer seemed to be able to offer. The filly is coming back after a significant lay-up due to a soft tissue injury while training on poly-track (a common occurence, it seems), so she needed a dirt surface to train on. Additionally, she's a fairly high strung, nervous filly so she needed to be in an environment that could manage her nervous tendencies. Caraway Racing's training set-up at Victory Haven has been a blessing. "Lovey" gets the regular turn-out she needs, very personalized attention that only a smaller operation can/will provide, and she gets to train on a dirt surface that her body type seems to be better suited for. I will never take another horse to a trainer (no matter how big the name) who offers a "cookie-cutter" training regime and who doesn't have the time to address each horses needs individually. In the training arena--you most often don't always get what you pay for. Great job Caraway!
