Nice run at the Mountain

Postby Denise » Thu Sep 03, 2009 5:14 am

Sack of Rubies notched a win for us last night at Penn in the same condition her brother Sy won two weeks ago: 25K, 2L, mile/70 on the yielding turf. We'll see how she comes out of it, but it may be a brother/sister show in the amateur rider races at the PHA on the 12th. Both divisions are starter 25K, 3L on the weeds. Could have our morning rider up and keeping fingers crossed! :D

Yaaaa for Ruby! I'm so happy for you guys. I need an icon that jumps up and down and screams at the top of it's lungs. How are the other babies doing?

Next up is the 3yo. in the sibling queue: Platinize, Sunday, M40K, 8 panels on the lawn for the first time starter. She's Sy's full sister.
The 2yo., Pebble to a Pearl, is training nicely and quite collected for her age and size. :D
The '09 filly, Reds, is racing around the farm with a pack of leggy babies, now that she's weaned.
All are well. Big Bro Spider is living the life of a retiree, and will be one of the lead ponies at the hunt meets and point to points for the hunt master.

So nice to hear that everyone is doing well, but I'm going to miss the big gray Spider at the track. Good luck to Platinize in her run on Sunday.

The big grey will now be a fixture on the hunt circuit, while his baby sister greys, Platinize and Pebble to a Pearl, will continue the racing thread.
Have a happy Labor day weekend, everyone!

Platinize was 4th, beaten two, nosed for 3rd, 1/2 from second. Was pretty professional the whole way for the first start. She did prove she gets the whole racing thing, so we're thrilled. :D

I saw the chart and it was a good first outing, and yeah she does get the racing thing. Looking forward to her next race. :D

Hey MM,
You know we're in Saturday in both the 5th and 6th, with Sack of Rubies and Bro Sy. I hesitated even mentioning it, given the weather systems off the eastern seaboard right now. :P
We'll see.

Here's hoping the bad weather holds off and they both have great races.

You finally get both horses at the same track, the same day and we get 8" of rain.

Same track, same day, back to back races, good spots for both as well.
Karma just wasn't there.
Our morning rider was so looking forward to her spot with Bro Sy, given she's on him every day.
Ah well. On to the next.
