My homebred two year-old (first foal out of my broodmare) is set to make his debut on 11/15 at Golden Gate. His name is See Zo Go. It's been quite a ride watching "Zo" grow up and finally make it to the races. He's been training well and we're optimistic about his racing future. It's our first starter too, so we're both nervous and excited. Our fingers are crossed...

It was an OK race first time out, but the horse had no excuses and came up short. A little dissapointing. We were shocked to see him claimed, and it was a terrible experience for us all having had him since he was born. Tough to explain how the claiming game works to my kids who were crying their eyes out in the middle of the grandstand. That's horseracing, right? Well, now I'm down to my mare once again. Maybe I'm better off on the breeding side of the business, because the racing side is quite a rollercoaster.

Tough question. I've been trying to figure out my options on how to get him back. Defintely wouldn't claim him back on the jump. Maybe at the same price, but I would like to see hime run a couple of time to get a better feel for his value as a racehorse. My long-term goal has always been to just be able to stay in the "game" and I feel like I just took a step backwards. Who knows, maybe it was a blessing in disguise... only time will tell.
