Vestal Heights goes again.

Postby BenB » Wed May 18, 2005 11:10 am

VH will be running next sunday in her first appearance in an open handicap in our country. Distance a mile and ninth sixteenth or 12,5 furlong at our hometrack, gooing 3 benches. She will meet some tough warhorses ( making 50 or more starts) only one other 4 year old in, like she.
The number two of her derby, were she ended up in the third place . Her half brother by solo native usa is also in. It will be an interesting race to see, no doubt about that. Draw box 2 gooiing off with bottomweight 54 kg, the topweight is 64 kg ( a lot on this distance).
Thanks for all the comments made in the thread, which of these two possibilities will I choose, in the general discussion.

Ben

Vestal Heights goes again

Postby BenB » Sun May 22, 2005 8:57 am

Vestal Heights ended up 3rd. leading from 4 furlongs after the start, she holded on up to 11 furlongs after that she was outpaced. half a lenght and a lenght, this handicap was one of the best handicaps in our nation
so I am glad with her achievements battleling up to the finish. She just couldn,t make enough daylight between her and the others, none of them leaving her entirely out on her own. She gets a short holiday, and will return over a month. She is growing a little bit in her topline, and her top shoulder line is becomming more visable.

Just saw the last part of the race on video, she sure battled a long time with the colt who won it. Wanna have a look? Go to www.nakoersen.nl go to the left to "Rensport Binnenland" go down until you see "impressie zondag 22 mei" go down until you see "video koers 6". :D :D :D
