Remote Control rolls again
Remote Control is entered for a $25K tag in a 7 1/2 furlong turf race at Lone Star Park on Friday night the 8th. He's in tough, and my trainer thinks he's overmatched. I see him as evenly matched with the others, and all have their weaknesses. His races last year as a three-year old were nearly as good as the older horses in this race, and he's just now getting his career fired up this year. If it rains or if he's sick or sore, we'll pass. His long odds don't bother me. I've had horses win at 30:1 before. He's by Alphabet Soup, who puts out horses that improve with age, and he's sound so far and eager. He even gets Nena Matz, the same winning jockey as last out, and she's won on him twice now. Wish us well.

Ben, you should be glad I didn't see your message until this morning. He came in eighth of eight running the race. Poor guy tried so hard, but couldn't keep up. The other longshot went wire-to-wire for the win, and the favorite came in second. I guess all of them really were fairly evenly matched. 
He only missed by six lengths, though, so no disgrace. Lone Star is a tough place to race, very competitive for $25,000 claimers. 
We're going to seek easier opportunities for him from now on. There's an open allowance at Tulsa in two weeks that will better suit him, as it's not a very high profile track, and mostly draws local horses. That's the track he won on in June.

Henthorn, what happend in your case, happend in our case with Vestal Heights last time out gooiing to Hamburg in the north of germany.
The other track is Baden- Baden, they are offering purses 2x the height of any other track in germany.
Everyone wants to win a race during the Derby festival over there.
As you,ve could read, VH ended up fifth and is on recovery from the hauling etc, not from the race.
