Zulu Dancer (again)

Postby Bill from WA » Thu Jul 07, 2005 3:08 pm

He ran yesterday at Pleasanton. Starter Allowance, 6 furlongs. He went off at 7/1. Stalked the pace, took the lead in mid-stretch, was headed, and then fought back gamely to prevail by a head. He runs his heart out every time.

Another one of my "Babies" a grey two-year-old gelding by Snowbound x Lady Hawkster by Hawkster, named Sharper Edge, is training very well for his debut. had a good 47 and change work today (3rd best of 18 at the distance). He should be ready soon. He's huge, over 17 hands. Trained by Jim Penney.

congrats on the big win.. And about your Snowbound, we have a yearling snowbound colt that is out of a mare that has had 7 foals and 7 winners but they all were lacking in size but this colt is the biggest of all our babies at this age. Plus I always wanted a gray and that he is..

Thanks folks.
He really is a nicely put together individual. He should be a decent earner if he stays healthy.

Bill

Congrats on the win. Wished I would have read this thread earlier so I could have watched the race. I have been following Zulu's progress on this forum. He sure appears to have a big heart.

Regards, Shergar.

Congrats on Zulu Dancer's win, and please keep me posted on any developments with the one by the Hawkster mare. (I've got a daughter of Hawkster in my broodmare band.)

Postby Bill from WA » Sun Aug 07, 2005 9:31 pm

Hi

Zulu Dancer is entered in the 5th race at Del Mar on Monday. Tough spot.
He's 12-1 on the morning line. Rene Douglas up. Keep your fingers crossed.

He got claimed.

Postby Bill from WA » Mon Aug 08, 2005 9:11 pm

Dancer ran an even race but wasn't a threat at all, finishing 5th again. Four horses were claimed out of the race, including Dancer ($32,000). He goes to Huston Racing Stable, trainer, Barry Abrams. Hope he treats his charges well.

Bill I don,t no what to say In our country there are no claimers races at all,and in germany just a very few, without any interest at all.
In france there are a lot of them, but the level is high and the numbers an awfull lot, mostly between 20-30 in a race.

Dancer ran second in a mile race at Del Mar this past weekend. He has a 2nd and a 3rd for his new owners. He's close to $50,000 in earnings so far this year.

It sound like he is paying off, for his new owners, and he gets the distance
you were writing about in earlier posts.
