Globe's last foal

Postby Scott » Wed Nov 30, 2005 4:15 pm

Global Omega, the last foal of Globe, is scheduled for a workout friday at Sam Houston. She is a four year old mare that has been in training the last 5 mo's. She has never had any physical problems - but just seemed to be a late maturer. From all the Globe babies I've seen - she resembles Hippodamia the most - her paternal grandmother - ( pic on this site a 2 yr old pic of her)

Trainer says she has some talent - though you never know till they are proven. She has the look of a turf horse eventually - great stride, lean, big feet - but she will start on the dirt - probably 5.5 furlong.

Here's hoping for a productive career!

She didn't work. She kicked the trailer so hard on the way to the track that she was a little off in her back left leg. Vet checked her and said give a couple days rest - we'll check her again monday.

She got ace on the way back to her training home, which is in Palestine, Tx. across from where Pancho Villa stands. She is one of those "I'll do it my way" alpha mares. Hope she remembers her pain and acts better next time.

I really like the off track training center she is at for her developement, but just like a horse - she found a way to delay plans. We've waited this long - but don't you just fret the little setbacks?

Meg finally got to work today at Sam Houston, going 4 furlongs in 49.0 - 3rd best of 28. I am pleased with the work- this is her first official work. I don't expect her to be a sprint type. Now we have to get a race for her - barring the setbacks. She could be a better than average mare.

Nice work for her. That track has really slowed since the rains that they got a couple of weeks ago. I hope you find a good debut spot for her soon.
