Hi JB. I have a horse (Intrepid Air) from Michael Anchel who had a less than stellar career. I have his papers and they say he won on June 22, 1997 in NY Bred MDN/ALW at Belmont, 6F. (Clearly I don't know much about racing!!!) I tried contacting Mr. Anchel, but I get the impression he is a high volume breeder/trainer and since my horse only had a few starts before moving on to become a sport horse, he never returned my calls. I was just wondering how I could find out who the photographer was or where I could get pictures or if there even were pictures/videos of a race like this.
Sorry if this has been answered already, but like I said, I don't know much about racing.

AJ,
I did confirm that you have the correct date, and he won the first race of the day if it ever matters.
If it comes to this, you could always tryyyy to make contact with either Jockey Frank Alvarado or trainer Frank LaBoccetta to see if one or the other has an old copy they'd be willing to part with.
But the initial path you should take is to contact the track photographer at Aqueduct currently, then find out if he/she is also the Belmont photographer, and then learn whether he/she has been there ten years.
If so, then that is the person you would order from (with horse name, date, and race info). If not, then you has he/she whom to contact to order a back photo from 1997.
The website for both Belmont and Aqueduct is www.nyra.com
That should help.

Thanks JB. I've had this horse since he was retired from racing. I plan to keep him forever. I am fortunate enough to have his papers, but I really don't know what they mean. I'm trying to learn more about racing, but it's so overwhelming! I appreciate the help. Were those two his jockey and trainer? It's really cool to know that.

eta: I just emailed the photographer... I believe it is Adam Coglianese. Also, can I ask how you get all this information? Is it a special club or something?

Frosty LA
Hello!
I've been trying desperately to track down past history and info on my mare Frosty LA (La Saboteur X Ice Cold Queen). She was bred in Washington, USA and I'm not sure where she raced but I think she had 40 something starts.
I'd love dates and places for her wins but also if there are owners' names? I'd also like to track down past owners for some breeding information as I know she was used as a broodmare.
Thanks for the help!

Can I get information on my rescue
I don't know a lot about him, his name is Fire Zone and he's a 1996 model - AlyshbaX Wild One. I'm told he broke his leg on the track but that's all I know. Have his pedigree and tattoo # but would love more information about him and his past!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks! I bought the one horse, Town Without Pity last yr from the TB racing program i'm in @ college (Go Morrisville!) -- Any info I can get my hands on concerning his family absolutely fascinates me. My mom used to have a QH that was heavily influenced by TB lines, which got me into the pedigree research in the first place. Again, thanks so much

sending this to the top, rather than click through handfuls of posts which may or may not be related.
I'm still here - occasionally - so if anybody has specific details about their old/new horse and hopes to connect eventually with winners circle shots from the past, hopefully I can point you in the right specific direction.

my god Lucy that was way too fast lmao!!!! thank you and i also see you updated her info too!! I wish I could get pix of her as a youngster to compare it to Spex. This grey horse thing is a cool "biology" experiment for me. We can't believe our Strawberry roan is going to change before our eyes!!
But thank you very much again!!!!
