blue dotted lines in pedigree

Postby mini's mom » Thu Aug 03, 2006 10:17 am

hi

I was looking at a pedigree of a stallion listed for sale - on his pedigree there are two blue dotted lines under the second dam 'chris evert'. what does that mean.

his name is georgia crown and he is a nice looking stallion

thanks

mini's mom...I know the stallion but I do not know what blue dotted lines are...sorry!
He was kept at my barn for a while. I love his personality and he is a real easy breeder. He has awesome conformation and he passes on that sabino trait to his babies. I personally think he is bred extremley well. None of his foals are of racing age yet. I helped the owner do some free jumping with him and he was awesome! So he not only has talent for racing but for jumping as well.
Just thought I'd pass it on. I don't have anything bad to say about him. And for the price you couldn't ask for a better deal.

OK I figured out the lines...it means All Rainbows and Chris Evert are half siblings through their dam Miss Carmie.

I think that he is a classic tb stallion - short backed - neck set on sort of straight - he has some substanceto him - he has a butt - his top line is equal which is what I like and he has something supporting him - I hate a horse that is top heavy - that is uneven on the top line and has nothing in the forearm - how are his feet? does he have the small tea cup ones or the big grass feet?

I had a horse symbolic times that I was trying to buy last year but they wanted toooooo much money for him and I did not have 25k to spend on him - I would rather have him but they both have nice breeding -

would he cross well with that mare famous woman that I got off the track - I don'tknow much about pedigrees and who I should breed her to - I do know what I need to correct on her and she has a poor front end and racing injuries - she has a huge shoulder and small feet - that is why she broke down as she was not managed properly

thanks for the info

Stacy (George's owner) is way better with pedigrees than I am. She would be best to ask. I do know that George retired sound after 62 starts. I wouldn't say he has huge grass feet, but they aren't tiny either. He stays barefoot most of the time.

Artic -- Is your stallion open for public stud? If so, what kind of price are you looking at?

If you are talking about Arctic Cielo he is open to a few mares in 2007. If you are talking about Georgia Crown he belongs to Stacy and she does stand him to the public. Please pm me if u want more info on Cielo or Stacy's e-mail

blue lines in ped

I asked about the feet as tbs are notorious for having terrible feet - if he is barefoot all of the time they would be ok - and if you have no foot you have no horse - you can have stacey e mail me if you want it is on the pm page

thanks
