searching for this filly or broodmare

Postby vmkoehler » Mon Jan 08, 2007 4:34 pm

I am looking for any offspring from the mare Perky and sired by Mobay. I found Eddies Angel and would like to know where she is. She is a full sis ter to a wonderfull horse that we just euthanized named Brilliant Highway. He was the absolute perfect horse and I owned him for 15 years. BEFore that he was a steeplechaser. Eddie's Angel has a filly named Cloud Dancer who should be about 4 now. I cant find information except that they might be in California. Anyone with any information please contact me. Thanks

Perky, a 1989 mare by Seattle Slew, was bred to good stallions such as Unbridled, Distorted Humor, Numerous, and Our Emblem. No Mobay there. Could Perky be part of the name, or is there another Perky other than 1989? Do you have any other info on her?

It's a different Perky - the '69 model by Dogoon. :)

The sire of Eddies Angel is spelled Mo Bay....that might make it easier to look her up. She does have several foals other than Cloud Dancer - indeed, she had her first in '85. She's also showing an '04 filly in the APR, which was never registered. Nothing since, so she may no longer be with us. :(

thanks so much for replies. I was thinking that Eddies Angel might not be around anymore. I'm trying to check out any siblings to my horse or EA's other foals. I thought the JC wouldnt let you register a name if it allready exsists untill the previous horse was gone certain number of years. Sure would like to find something close to my horse.

Eddie's Angel

Postby vmkoehler » Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:23 pm

Does anyone know her owner or trainner? Best I can figure she died at 35. She had 7 foals Aunt Polly 1993, Guiding Force 1997, Dream Angel 1998, Grand Vision 1999, Sweet Rhapsody2 2000, Fabled Prince 2002, and Cloud Dancer 2003. Information on any of these horses would be greatly apreciated. I'd like to try and trace back to a trainer or owner that knew my horse Bright Highway

That's only half of her foals - Eddies Angel was a busy lady.

Steddy 'n' Strong '85, Strong Angel '86, Milad '90, Monarchy '91, Dancingwithanangel '92, Faustino '94, and Star Reward '96 were all missing from the database. I added them, but they won't show up in Eddies Angel's progeny report until the database updates in a day or two. :)

lucky you seem to know so much about E.A. how do you get this info? I'm really trying to find out who owned her and where some of these foals might be if still alive. The JC of course wont give you anything. I do seem to recall seeing somewhere that she was owned possibly by a group or something begining with a b and in california. But I know my horse was a Kentucky born foal. owned by a family there in Kentucky. I have had no luck finding them in kentucky. My horse also went to Ireland we believe. thanks for your information. We are heartbroken over the loss of this horse and would love to find some information relevant to where his full sisters foals might be. thanks again

I'm afraid I have no first-hand knowledge of the mare or her foals. Sorry.

I got the info from the American Produce Records CD-Rom, which contains the breeding records of all North American TB mares & the race records of the foals.

For the younger horses, you can try setting up a free account with drf.com or equibase.com to get e-mail alerts whenever they are entered to race. The ownership info is shown in the race entries. Of course, this will only help you if the horses are still actively racing....but it's worth a try.

thanks Lucy thats good information. I was just looking at equibase and trying to decide what reports to order. I think I'll give that a shot. You'd think one of these would still be in the game. hopefully! If there not and just hanging out somewhere I'd like to give it a home. Thanks again
