Trying to find pictures of Italian Connection... is there a way to request a photo? Is there even a chance of finding a photo of a race run some time ago (mid-seventies)?
Thanks!

May 6, 1976 at Hawthorne ********** try this one first, as he wasn't wearing his customary blinkers, and because a young Jerry Bailey was riding.

And yes there is a good chance, especially because you have so many options there.

Update
Just thought I'd fill you in...
I contacted Hawthorne about the win with Jerry Bailey. They said, "WHAT year?!?" Not really, but the current photographer only goes back to '92 or so...
So I decided to try to get the info straight from the horse's mouth (sorry about that pun, I couldn't resist!) I e-mailed the Jerry Bailey website and received a reply the next day from none other than the man himself... Mr. Bailey said he wasn't surprised that Hawthorne didn't have a pic from that long ago, and that he only saved winning pics for the first few years of his career, but he just happened to have the photo I was looking for and it's on its way to me! How's that for some personalized service?
I'll let you guys know when I get the photo (I'm sure I can't post it; copyrights and such) but I'm curious to see how much my mare looked like her daddy, and I think I'll save my Bailey e-mail as my little claim to fame... it makes for a great story. I feel practically famous just by association!
Thanks for your detailed info; I never would have guessed such a famous tuckus sat on my mare's sire!

That takes the cake...
well, except for when someone on this forum responded:
"ThEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 'Jerry Bailey' ??? "
And since nobody anywhere could think of any other Jerry Bailey who was even so much as an unknown rider, well...
I'm glad that happened for you. But I still don't believe that winner's circle negatives just go up in smoke once a new photographer takes over. I suspect they're somewhere.

Picture in hand...
I got it in the mail today. It's so cool! Freakin' autographed and everything. He's really young in this picture! It's very seventies. Everybody looks like Starsky & Hutch with the leather jackets and a couple of really great afros!
So great! Thanks again for the info.

Well as the result of that I think the world should go a little easier on one Jerry Bailey.
At least he is sincere and understanding, and seemingly somewhat appreciative of what life has given him.
Back then in 1976 I wonder how many career wins he may have expected to rack-up. That is the point at which you wonder if you should cling tight to every winner's circle picture.
Thanks for sharing that little something extra with the board here.
