Race Records on Tattooed Horses

Postby jumper77 » Mon Nov 28, 2005 12:19 am

I'm curious about race records on two horses I've owned in the past:

Fancy Blanket 1987 grey mare- Tattoo #Q14459

Run to the Stars 1989 bay gelding- Tattoo #S43839

I purchased these horses as 3 & 4 yr. olds respectively, so I know they probably only ran a few times, but I'd love to know how fast (or slow, more likely!) they were.

Any suggestions on how to find out this info would be great!

I should add that I never actually had papers for the grey mare. I purchased her after her owner died; papers were supposedly lost. I researched her tattoo # and got her pedigree info as it appears now. That matched the name that was given to me by her old trainer.

She was bred in Arkansas and the bay gelding was bred in Oklahoma.

Fancy Blanket made seven starts, three of them at age two, but never finished in the top three. She did manage to earn $450, probably through a fourth- or fifth- place effort.

Run To The Stars only raced once, and finished out of the money.

Hope that helps! :)

Run To the Stars finished last in his only start

Fancy Blanket was fourth in her first start, and then made the top-7 just once after that.

Thank you both so much! I didn't expect too much info at all... maybe the name of the track they ran at or something. I certainly didn't expect a response the next day after my post. I had no idea that they made Misty (the grey) try so hard...that was soooo her! The funniest thing was that her old trainer wanted to buy her back after I started feeding her well and putting in hundreds of hours of love and work into her... she turned into a STELLAR hunter! And after all that work... she was and still is the fastest freakin' TB that I've ever sat on... especially for only being 15.2!
As for Hook, I wasn't surprised a bit that he came in last. He couldn't gallop to save his life...he never was in a hurry to do anything. (What a valuable lesson that is...) And he was my jumper-- it was his JOB to go fast!
It was so wonderful to find this stuff out about my special guys. I always wondered and thought I'd never know-- and now that I do, it makes so much sense...that's exactly what they were both like.
I could go on forever about them...you know how it is... but I just wanted y'all to know how happy I was to find this stuff out. I'm still crying (happy tears!) just thinking about how wonderful they were...

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

In the matter of Run to the Stars...

you are NOT the father !!! (oh, wait, that was from Maury Povich)

In the matter of Fancy Blanket, she was 4th in her career opener on August 31, 1989 at Louisiana Downs in the 4th race. Don't know the owner/trainer there. Breeder was David M. Clark in Arkansas
