Hi all, we recently purchased a 1995 Tb mare named Happy Anniversary. Reg #9517509, she is in foal. the note that came with her said that she is in foal to a son of Mr Prospector but has no other information on the stallion or his owner. Her last registered owner on the certificate is Palmer Farms, who is now out of business according to another thread I had read from 2003. We purchased this mare from Unadilla horse auction (Chambers and Sons) on 11/25/2005.
Any and all info on this mare, her past owners or the stallion she is currently in foal to would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

Uh oh.. regarding your mare, the Jockey Club will be able to tell you if she was reported bred to a registered Thoroughbred this year and what was the last cover date. That is handy to know because then you can figure out when the foal is due.
"Uh oh" comes from the fact that I have already received my stud certificates for the year for my stallions. You will not be able to register the foal without the stud certificate, which will most likely be in the possession of the stallion owner. The stud certificate is not released by the stallion owner until the stud fee is paid. The stud certificate accompanies mares sold in foal through the "big" sales. It may all be just fine.. or you might end up like I did way back when I had just started out and got a mare with a colt, the seller swore the fee was paid and I didn't know about the certificate, and so got swindled so to speak.

just fishing here
Hi,
The first foal from that mare was by a "grandson of Mr. Prospector" named Our Frankie. Both sire and dam are from the same era, and same area, and I wonder (somewhat blindly) if your mare was bred back to the same sire and somebody just embellished a little? (for lack of actual info, that is a guess)
Do know that your mare raced 14 times, won once, April 19, 1998 at Finger Lakes, NY, and that she was very slow on the track.
Listed owner during her racing career was Nyala Farm
Breeders: Kathleen M. O'Connell & Ruth Bedford in New York
Trainer: P. Wasiluk Jr.
For the record, sire Our Frankie raced at Finger Lakes on April 18, 1998 (among many other starts there)

Thank you. I will give them a call and see what, if any, information they have on this mare for breeding dates, etc, etc, etc. It will be a bummer to find out that the stud fee was not paid. I am hoping that maybe the certificate got lost at the auction.

[quote="JimbleBrimble"]Hi,

Interesting!! Thank you. I had checked with APHA and AQHA but found no progeny listed there out of Annie. I am not sure how to go about getting an online progeny report for her from the TB services. As far as I know this foal in her belly is her first one.

I was tinkering aroun with doing some searches the other night and found that htis mare and Our Frankie had come from Palmer Farms. I do have current contact information for Our Frankie. After my call to the Jockey Club, if they dont have anything, I will go ahead and call the stallion owner and see if they remember this mare.

I have the part of her papers that has the race record. It looks like the Finger Lakes race was a claiming race. I asked a local guy about it and he told me it was the amount of the race and how much she was claimed for.
>For the record, sire Our Frankie raced at Finger Lakes on April 18, 1998
Thanks again! It would be awsome to find out that that is the stallion she is bred too.
Appreciate the information!!

[quote="JimbleBrimble"]HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, 1995, . . . .
This is from the American Produce Records, BUT it is from an old disc,
Thank you once again. I called the Jockey Club this morning. The mare was reported as being berd in 2005 to the stallion Country Squire. The stallion owner has not finished the stallion report on the last date covered yet. THey would not give me the stallion owners name nor any contact information.
However, after a "Google" search on the net I found the stallion listed in the NY bred website and contact information for the farm he stands at. Austro Farms.
I am not trying to contact the farm for information.
So it looks like we are down the back stretch and coming into the turn!!
Woo hoo!!!
