photo research

After the tattoo research with TJC, I found my new thoroughbred pasture pet mare's name to be Dark Music. She did race (fairly unsuccessfully), so I am trying to find if there are any starting photos out there, and how I might get them.

The only way to get photos is if she had won any races. If she had in fact won a race or two you would need........ track name, date of race and name of horse contact the track photgrapher where she had won. They keep photos from fairly far back too. Hope this helps?

Dark Music won in her first race at Track PM (?) date 12/07/1985 and at LGA (Long Acres?) on 06/20/1987, 05/14/1987 & 10/05/1986. She came in 2nd at LGA on 11/02/1986, 10/24/1986, 10/15/1986, 09/10/1986 & 04/13/1986.

If you have any further help, it's much appreciated, otherwise I'll try and follow up on your recommendations.

PM is Portland Meadows. And Lga is Long Acres. Try contacting the photographer at Portland Meadows. I am sure if you contact the track they will be able to help you locate the photographer.

Portland Meadows changed hands about four years ago. The current managers don't have a record of the former track photographer. Longacres was shut down in 1992. So, I'm continuing to do the normal searches and a bit more research, but not expecting to find too much. She's still a great horse, and she fits her new name anyway.
