THE BOYS WERE SENT OFF !

Sent the Birdstone and Scrimshaw colts to KY for sales prep last week. What an ordeal that was. Terrible to see them leave the farm and see them go into someone else's stall (do not ask me how I'll stand it when and if they sell). Anyhow, Scrimshaw tore down the water bucket and the wooden board holding it on the stall wall as soon as he got in the stall. Both boys tried to jump out of the stalls to get to each other. Me? I had to get the heck out of there before I brought them back home (ha). Both doing well according to the farm now. Got their hip #'s for the Nov sale: Birdstone/Anna K. is hip #2618 and Scrimshaw/Laird's Honor is hip #3576. If anyone is there and sees them prior to the sale let me know what you think. We're thankful they aren't on the last day. Let's hope they find a good home (one other than mine

I withdrew my Sligo Bay filly from the sale, as almost all listed are in the final book. Apparently an underwhelming bunch! Mine has always been athletic and muscular, so I'm keeping her for racing. She's just immature and "turfy". Good luck with your boys!

Henthorn - I too would have withdrawn them if they were on the last day - we've sold on the last Saturday of the sale several times and always end up the loser for it. Won't happen to me again. Of course, the problem now is that if they don't sell I can't blame the day!!!!
